Event Information
The Africa Conference 2026 celebrates more than two decades of exploration success, bringing together the geoscience community to reflect on the discoveries, technologies and insights that have shaped African Exploration & Production since the conference was first established in 2002.
Past, Present & Future
Since the first GESGB/HGS Africa Conference was held in 2002, the energy landscape across Africa has changed beyond recognition. Numerous fields have been discovered, appraised, developed and brought into production, many of which began life as concepts first presented at the Africa Conference in London, Houston and Cape Town.
With the passing of our long-standing Conference Chair, Ray Bate, it is fitting that this year’s conference celebrates the remarkable achievements of the past 24 years, whilst looking ahead to the next generation of exploration opportunities across the continent.
