The effect of seismic data conditioning on AVO analysis and spectral decomposition to map turbidites

Seismic data conditioning (SDC) is an important step in reservoir characterization and quantitative interpretation (QI) projects. In this presentation, using an example from the North Sea, I’ll show you how different seismic conditioning steps and parameters can positively (and negatively) affect the AVO analysis and spectral decomposition analysis performed to map turbidites.

Ana Somoza Graterol – Managing Consultant, Cegal Ltd
Ana is a Senior Geophysicist with 15 years of experience in O&G, currently working at Cegal Ltd as Managing Consultant. Her primary areas of expertise are rock physics, rock physics driven facies inversion, seismic conditioning, pre-stack and post-stack inversion and AVO analysis. She has worked in several hydrocarbon fields, including Central North Sea, Forties field, and Brenda field; the Barents Sea, onshore Mozambique, Deepwater offshore Ghana, Nile of Delta, Western Australia, and Latin America.
