GESGB are excited to be hosting this year’s summer barbecue in Aberdeen! 

We look forward to welcoming our members and also non-members to Inn at the Park, Ferryhill. A perfect opportunity to meet old friends and new, enjoy a BBQ dinner and a drink or two!

This social event will commence with a talk followed by networking, drinks and food.

Speaker Biography

Prof. Nick Schofield – University of Aberdeen
Nick Schofield is a Professor of Igneous and Petroleum Geology. He specializes in the seismic and field interpretation of intrusive and extrusive sequences in volcanic terranes and their interaction with hydrocarbon systems. He works heavily on oil and gas exploration in the basins West of Shetland. He is at the forefront of allowing the industry to understand the challenging volcanic geology in the subsurface around the UKCS, Atlantic Margin, East Africa and Australasia.
