Young Professionals Summit 2022

This years Young Professionals (YP) Summit will be interactive, offering an online day-time event with panel discussions and break-out rooms. There will be a focus on power skills and will provide a platform to ask questions to professionals in the energy industry from a diverse range of backgrounds, on topics crucial to our development as young professionals. This year we will host evening in-person networking events which will be held in both London and Aberdeen.

The YP Summit continues to adapt to the changes within the energy sector and aims to tackle the critical issues which young professionals have been facing in the  last decade. The chairpersons Jade Metcalfe (PESGB) and Gerardo Gaitan (AAPG), along with a skilful organising committee from the PESGB, SPE & EAGE Young Professionals groups, are working to bring you a dynamic, 1-day hybrid event. The YP Summit will always be targeted to our young professionals and organised by young professionals. Our vision is to integrate, empower, and transform the new generation of energy professionals for a positive future.

The energy industry has faced a plethora of problems and we are keen to focus the YP Summit on industry of the future. For example, we are shedding light on  the changes that we are experiencing that are impacting the way young professionals work. Furthermore, we aim to equip our younger generations of  geoscientists and engineers with the essential tools that they will need to contribute to a dynamic energy industry.

The young professionals of today, are the future of the energy industry tomorrow. Our scientists and engineers will be the bridge between decades of knowledge  and expertise, and the required knowledge for the methodologies and technologies of the future.

In previous years, the YP Summit has been hosted in London and Aberdeen for young professionals from different countries. With the help of technology, we aim to deliver the same quality of talks to reach an even greater  community of geoscientists and engineers around the globe. As we explore new ideas and continue to grow; we do not reject the idea of going back to fully in-person events.
